1.The biggest class of the day but a bit of a headache as there were so many different shapes and sizes and it was impossible to judge to type. The five placed bitches were all of high quality and worthy of top honours but they were all different. 1. Open Pages Winflash Born To be Wild, absolutely clean in outline, no lumps or bumps here. She has breed type and is well constructed throughout with a decent front and well turned hindquarters. Firm, well muscled body good to go over, everything fits right. She moved with reach, drive and impulsion. She never let up showing and was very well handled. I gave her a first the last time I judged her, this time RCC. YKC Stakes Utility winner CH Winflash Elles Belles JW SHCM Thank you to Donna Whincup for kindly taking this photo. |

PANDORA TAKES HER FIRST CC!! Elle takes her last RCC- ''We can not begin to thank Mr Ogden for the acknowledgment of her passing in her last critique. '' OB (11,2) Goodness me! Quality class to make me work. 1st Open: Page's Winflash Born To Be Wild 2yrs; the more I asked of her the more she gave; I would tweek a couple of head points, that is still balanced, but having taken that into account, the rest of her so screamed classy functionality & breed type that she maintained her place on the final circuit round with her balanced ease; classically feminine; bodylines that flow; sleek coated with defined spots; strong bone & cat feet; has depth; rounded quarters; correctly angulated; such symmetry; sound; electrifying profile action that was long striding & rhythmic; beautifully handled & conditioned. Bitch CC and her title will surely follow. 2nd Open: Page's Ch Windflash Elle's Belle's 2yrs; one benefit of judging at this level 1st time is in not knowing who is connected/related to whom, whether exhibit or exhibitor, so "dad" as handler meant absolutely nothing to me nor the fact I was deciding between half-sisters; the better head with darker eye; same structure; outstanding conformation; good depth & quarters; strong loin; combines power with femininity; bang on movement on cat feet; just edged out by the super fit agility of her kennelmate. Reserve Bitch CC. It all seems pretty irrelevant now with her subsequent, tragic, passing. The public & our media/political detractors haven't a clue as to the path we take as breeders littered with pitfalls from which we have to bounce back when our instinct is to jack it all in. I am sure that all who can identify with this will feel the pain of the Page family. |
Three Counties 2014 Judged by Chris Toynton Thank you to Ann Hurst for kindly taking this photo 2. Limit – Morgan’s – Winflash Olympic Star. J.W. Honest, understated girl that when you take a closer look has a lot of attributes that befit the standard so well: feminine head that is not over nor underdone, nice neck, deep chest, plenty of width between front legs, good strong bone & tight feet, body well in nice proportion with clean, classical lines. She moved with plenty of drive & intent, her tracking was without deviation, her balance was lovely to watch & she was another one that has a wonderful extended forward reach stretching out from the shoulder. Presented in superb condition. This one will surely make it to the top as her quality breeding stands out, but today I would have liked just a little more animation when it came to the class line up. Perhaps a long day or the heat of the day just made her lack energy. 1. Open – Page’s – Winflash Born to be Wild. J.W. Compact, cobby & full of confidence, good well proportioned head & neck, nicely rounded muscled up body , lovely tapering leg down to tight feet with plenty of strong bone, well constructed front, deep chest, nice tuck up of loin, very sturdy rear quarters that are sound & solid, good turn of stifle & well let down hock, powerful rear driving action & moved with arrogance in the class that brought her topline up. She stormed around the ring & took command of the class then stood with a striking outline that you could not ignore, this suddenly appears out of this kennel from nowhere but is refreshing when it does, she was so close to the top honour but in the challenge just lacked sparkle probably from her femininity or the heat but she is certainly on her way to success. Res. B.CC. 2. – Page’s – Ch. Winflash Elle’s Belle’s. J.W. Sh. Cm. First judged her as a puppy & she has grown into a fine specimen of the breed, standing four square you can see the lovely head shape & body construction she possesses. Her confirmation when moving is as good as you will get to the standard. Being beaten by her kennel mate today in a large class does not detract from her qualities, however she just lacked that extra oomph today that makes her stand out on the move. |

1 Puppy Dog Page’s Winflash Hugo Boss, stylish, balanced young man. Has width to skull, with well placed eye & balance of foreface. Dry neckline through correct, forehand. Straight front with round bone to neat feet. Length of rib to short strong loin, giving firm back. Strength behind. Free active mover, good spotting; 1st Pro Plan Puppy Stakes and Overall Winner - Winflash Hugo Boss 1st YKC Stakes- Winflash Hugo Boss 1 Page’s Winflash Born To Be Wild, from a great line-up, I just kept going back to this attention-grabbing bitch, with her gleaming white coat & evenly distributed spots. With her free, smooth & effortless gait, the impression is that she would never flag. This can only be achieved if construction is right, & she takes it one step further, by having the personality & composer to present her attributes. CC, BOB & G3. Delighted; |
